So I think I might have just found my new favourite cafe in Glasgow. I actually checked the reviews on Yelp first as I can always trust the Yelpers to know great places!

The cafe on the inside made me feel like I was somewhere abroad, there's lovely big windows to look out onto Merchant City. The waiter was very friendly and wasn't breathing down our necks after we'd finished eating to get rid of us.

I chose French toast with bacon and maple syrup and it was a dream. I haven't stopped thinking about it! The French toast was light and fluffy, the bacon crispy (my favourite) and the maple syrup was divine. I was completely stuffed after so unfortunately didn't get to try their lovely cakes.

They have seats outside for sunny days too and when I went there was a constant flow of people, a sign of a great place.

I'm already thinking about when I can go next!

It's a nice place for coffee and some food! We liked Mac n cheese and soup and our coffees, although there are very limited vegetarian options! But a nice place for coffee and cakes!

Looking for a quick spot of lunch in the Merchant City I opted for Cranberrys cafe on Wilson Street. I remember being in here some years back and the place being queued out the door but this wasn't the case on this occasion.

There was a lot of staff on - all very friendly and our spot beside the window was good for people watching.

The menu has a good selection of sandwiches, bagels, toasties and main meals with an all day breakfast and an assortment of cakes and desserts.

Spying a bagel with cream cheese and fresh fruit on the menu I opted for this as its not something I've seen or every had before. My bagel came with a side salad and slices of strawberry and kiwi and was pretty tasty but to be honest for the cost (£6.50) its was nothing that special. My friend opted for some soup with bread - again no complaints but nothing to write home about.

We split some caramel shortcake which well.. was exactly as you'd expect and for £2.25 I've had taster shortcakes from the supermarket.

With a couple of soft drinks our bill was £17 - a little on the expensive side for a pretty standard lunch and whilst I wouldn't rush back ,our lunch was tasty enough.

After a day of traipsing around the city in typical July weather, wind and rain, we took shelter in here for a bowl of soup and a sandwich to warm up. The sandwiches were nothing I couldn't have put together in my own kitchen with a loaf of bread and a visit to the fridges of Tesco. Unfortunately when you're paying 6 quid for it you're expecting a little bit more than that. Down to the soup to save the day. Cream of celeriac, not exactly a treat for the tastebuds but it was edible. The soup is served in a tiny bowl that might be enough to satisfy your cat.

After a disappointing lunch, two cappuccinos were ordered. Surely they must be able to make a decent coffee, I thought. Well by the time they made it to our table most of it was on the saucers they were served on. The cappuccinos resembled nothing of a proper cappuccino, more like a white coffee with a dusting of chocolate powder swimming on the top. Maybe I went here on a bad day but I'm genuinely wondering if I was in the same place as some of these other reviews? Two stars, just!

What can i say about Cranberry's...
Well, let me begin with this. Cranberry's is probably one of my favourite tearoom's in Glasgow. It has a nice, homely feel to it, and I always love to take my friends or family there. Even if it gets a bit busy, you can still enjoy yourself, and have a proper conversation, as the place is pretty peaceful, whereas places like Starbucks are bloody mobbed 24/7!

So if you're planning a trip to this particullar cafe I can assure you, you will not regret it. You will love the whole atmosphere and the staff are lovely too. Also, try their cakes, they are just top class!
